Scottish Highland Dancing is a traditional form of dance that dates back hundreds of years. It requires a ton of strength and stamina. In these classes, students will learn SOBHD (short for the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing) techniques and steps that are used internationally and in competitions. The steps and dances taught includes the Highland Fling, the Sword Dance, Seann Truibhas, and the Flora Macdonald’s Fancy, the Scottish Lilt and much more! In addition to technique, we will learn new strengthening and flexibility exercises.

Creative Movement is a combination of ballet, jazz, miming, and acting. It’s designed to get kids moving and girl-in-pinklearning the basics without being overwhelmed. Children will learn positions, timing, and how to count music, how to develop their muscles, and how to express themselves through movement.

Ballet class is suitable for beginners and will cover the fundamentals of classical ballet technique. It is a more formal setting that will give students the discipline to mature as dancers. The importance of strength, flexibility, rhythm, musicality, and memorization will be stressed. Basics of performing will also be introduced.

Contemporary is best described as every form of dance combined and then breaking some rules in order to portray a character or emotion. It’s a form of dance that teaches a full range of motion. Students will learn how to use their flexibility, strength, and emotion to its fullest potential. Students will also learn new dances as quickly as possible to train to pick up new skills faster and easier.

Hip Hop class will teach fundamentals of hip hop movement. They are upbeat and high energy classes. Stretching, isolations, rhythms, musicality, upper body strength and funky footwork and tricks will be incorporated. Students will learn to memorize choreography by working on a combination in each class.

Dancing Gym Bears is the perfect combination of dance and gymnastics. The class consists of 30 minutes of tumbling, bars, beam, vault & trampoline an 25 minutes of ballet. This is a great class for students who want to do both dance and gymnastics but time or finances are an issue.
